Thunderbird Lodge No. 15
Free and Accepted Masons
Volume 14, Issue 6 www.thunderbird15.org June 2007

From the
East:
Our
labors for the past month have been difficult due to the Grand Master’s Edict
#2, which precluded us from using our lodge room. The good news is that at the
Grand Lodge Communication, our newly installed Grand Master, David Luebke, decided
not to extend the Edict and we may return to our lodge room and return to
normal.
While the Past Grand Master’s issuance of this Edict is
controversial to say the least, Most Worshipful Rex Hutchins did address the
Grand Lodge in depth about how he felt it necessary to take this measure. Any
repetition I would give now on his address to the Grand Lodge would be second
hand information to the members of this lodge, and would not give any further
clarity to a very grave matter. If you would like to know exactly what his
statements to the Grand Lodge were, you may read them in the Proceedings of the
125th annual Grand Lodge Communication when it is published. There
is a lot of information floating around on the Internet and as rumors, which I
have read and heard, and 99.9% of which is wrong, which is why I refer you to
the ‘Preceedings…’ There you may read directly what Grand Master Hutchins’
public statements about this matter are. We have also offered our support to
the new Grand Line in being available to do whatever we may be called upon to
improve relations with the Shrine.
We are also indebted to Chandler Lodge #34 and Worshipful
Master Steve Smith and Secretary Carl Lawson for their hospitality and the use
of their Lodge room. Their hospitality helped us make it through a tough time,
and they are a living example of Masonry in action. I would also like to thank
our Officers and members who also supported our Lodge though this difficult
time, some of whom had to go far out of their way to attend our activities.
Our Stated meeting next week, Thursday, June 14, will be
in our room at the El Zaribah, at

At the Grand Lodge Annual Communication, our Lodge was
awarded the Master Builder Award, which has much more difficult criteria these
days, and the Master Award for our website.
Thanks to all those Brothers who helped us win these awards.
Also, we now have 5 Entered Apprentices preparing to be
passed in addition to the petition for membership being considered at our next
stated meeting. So if you are able to
help us with the degrees, your help would be most appreciated even if it was
just on the sideline. If you know of any
good men who would make a good candidate, we would also appreciate your petitions.
Our
final friendly notice for 2007 dues will be sent this week for those in
arrears, with our by-laws setting 1 July 2007 as the final deadline prior to
suspension.
We
really appreciate your continued membership in Thunderbird #15. If you have any problems or issues that I can
help resolve, please give me a call at 480-759-0253 or send an e-mail to beattyw@msn.com .

Did you know that Masonry
has its own “Ten Commandments”? Take a
look at Albert Pikes “Morals and Dogma” in the first chapter on the Apprentice
degree, which I’m sure you will find most excellent reading. We have a copy in the Lodge Library if you
are without.
