Vol. 16, No. 2 www.thunderbird15.org March-April 2009

From the
East:
I am saddened to report that the Worshipful Master has
not been able to pen a message for this trestle board due to continuing
illnesses. He has been having problems with a diabetic foot ulcer for some time
now and had to have it operated on again on April 6th. The doctor is pleased with his progress after
this surgery, but he will have to be on antibiotics administered by IV for
about six weeks. Meanwhile, a growth was detected on one of his kidneys which
has been diagnosed as renal cell carcinoma which will require removal of all or
part of the kidney. He is presently in Banner Good Samaritan hospital at 10th
St. and McDowell receiving his antibiotics and waiting for his kidney surgery
to be scheduled.
The Grayson family can use all the encouragement and
support that can be offered. You may remember that Lillie Grayson had an
accident last October requiring some surgeries and she is still recovering at
Plaza Healthcare in Scottsdale. Her progress has been good, but she will
require more surgery on her elbow. She is in good spirits and only wishes she
could be with Jeff.
The
Graysons have not been active only in our lodge, but also with Scottish Rite
and with the youth groups which meet at Chandler 34.
Cards can be sent to them at:

From the Secretary:
The legislation for the upcoming Grand
Communication has been received and a synopsis of the several legislations to
be balloted on at Grand Lodge were read at the April stated meeting.
Legislative items include changes to the ritual, complete elimination of
“one-day classes”, proficiency requirements for officers, Masonic Home funding,
changing the waiting period for a rejected candidate, an increase in the annual
per capita and administrative changes to the AMC. The Worshipful Master and
Junior and Senior Wardens carry the vote of the lodge at Grand Communication.
The lodge brothers need to let them know what their desires are in order for
them to ballot the will of the lodge. Copies of the synopsis as well as the
full text of all legislation is available from the Secretary on request or by
stopping by the lodge room on Thursday meeting times.
We
really appreciate your continued membership in Thunderbird #15. If you have any problems or issues that I can
help resolve, please give me a call at 480-510-8564.
