From the East:

Greetings, Brethren. It has been some time since I have been able to publish a Trestleboard, and until we have a new editor, I am afraid publication of this news letter will be irregular, but I will try to catch the brothers of this lodge up on our events since the previous Temple Talk.

Our Installation of Officers was held in the Fiesta Room of the El Zaribah Shrine on February 23. All elected officers and any appointed officers at the time were installed, except the Secretary, who was installed at the March stated meeting. Worshipful Brother Reza Farrokh was present with his York Rite brothers to act as an honor guard. Our thanks to Sir Knight Right Eminent Past Grand Commander Paul Monroe, Sir Knight Very Eminent Deputy Grand Commander Joe Cortes, Sir Knight Eminent Grand Sentinel Don Hake and Eminent Grand Commander Reza Farrokh for acting as the Honor Guard for our ceremonies. There was also a presentation on the Holy Saints Johns of Jerusalem and a talk on Biblical teachings on Widows.

A special Trustees meeting was held on March 28, to discuss the possibility of one of the York Rite bodies moving to our lodge and meeting on the first Tuesday of each month. While the Trustees voted to approve the move, neither our lodge nor the Shrine has enough room for the York to store all their materials, as their storage needs for their props is considerable. We were also contacted by the Prince Hall Grand Lodge who were looking for furniture for their new Temple, and the board of Trustees approved the sale of some of our excess furniture to the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Arizona to furnish their new Temple located at 6035 South 24^th St. in Phoenix. The dedication of the Temple was on May 3, and Thunderbird 15 and the Grand Lodge of Arizona were represented at the dedication ceremony of this very fine building.

The Cena y Serenata, to benefit A Stepping Stone Foundation, was held in the Shrine Auditorium on April 18. Thunderbird 15 had contributed funds to help cover the cost of the auditorium rental and had a table for some of our brothers to enjoy the evening and some of our brothers helped to clean up after the event. The Stepping Foundation is an educational foundation to assist children with special educational needs and their families in their education. Thank-you to Michael and Cindy Gattorna for helping put together a great event and also to Michael Gattorna and Denny Eisholtz for representing Thunderbird 15 by putting together and serving dinner at Ronald Mcdonald House on March 13.

I also regret to inform the Brethren of the passing to the Celestial Lodge of Jerry Everett, member of Thunderbird 48, and Ray Boles, Pm Tempe 15.

NOTICE

The Stated Meeting for June will be held on the second Thursday, June 12, due to the Grand Communication being held on our regular meeting night. There will not be a meeting on June 5. The Red Fez will be closed after Memorial Day, until Labor Day, so we will be meeting for dinner at Bill Johnson’s during the Summer. In July and August we will only be having our Stated Meetings, and will be dark the rest of these two months unless we have a specific reason to meet, such as a degree.

GRAND LODGE COMMUNICATION

The 126^th annual Grand Lodge Communication will be held in Prescott June 5-7, and all Masons and their families are invited and encouraged to attend, especially the public Installation of Grand Lodge Officers. Please see the enclosed flyer for details.
